Yoga and Meditation
Welcome to Rosanna Yoga!
I offer hatha / hatha flow yoga classes in Liverpool city centre. Beginners welcome. Group, one-to-one, one day workshops and retreats, corporate yoga classes, yoga for hen-dos, outdoors yoga.
Rosanna strives to make her classes:
She does this by creating a warm and nurturing environment, in which everyone feels welcome. Her positive and upbeat approach enables students to feel good about themselves and in their bodies. Rosanna firmly believes that yoga is not just for the fit, slim and flexible and that it can be incorporated into anybody’s everyday life, no matter how busy they are or how impossible it sometimes feels.
“Rosanna’s yoga classes are fun, invigorating, affordable and appropriate for people new to yoga or with some yoga experience.” Abigail Vink
“Whether you’re looking to strengthen your core, improve your flexibility or simply feel relaxed and enjoy a yogi’s experience, you’ll find all of this in Rosanna’s classes. Not one class that I didn’t thoroughly enjoy, it just makes you feel great!” Anne Chapelain, Spotify Ltd

Kadampa Meditation Centre (KMC) Liverpool has served as a special place of peace and refuge for all the people of Liverpool and Merseyside since 1994. This year, 2019 we will be celebrating 25 years! The meditation and Buddhist practices taught at the centre and its local branches are suitable for everyone, from those who seek simple relaxation, to those who wish to find lasting inner peace and contentment through following the Buddhist way of life.
The centre is a registered charity and is run entirely by volunteers both Buddhist and non Buddhist for the benefit of the people of Liverpool and Merseyside.
The drop in meditation classes at the centre and around Merseyside are open to everyone and include step-by-step guided meditations, talks and informal discussions. These group classes will allow you to relax, enjoy some meditation, and return home feeling refreshed and inspired.
Liverpool Iyengar Yoga was esablished in 1992 and is affiliated to the national organisation known as IY (UK) which currently hosts membership of the LIYI. Students of Iyengar Yoga can join LIY by visiting the website above or by asking their teacher for an application form.
WHAT IS IYENGAR YOGA?
BKS Iyengar has developed a form of yoga practice which features precision, body alignment with careful sequencing and timings of the yoga poses. This promotes health and stability in the body, steadiness in the breath and a calmness of the mind. It is suitable for all adults and you can start at any age and be of any fitness level to join classes.
WHAT SHALL I EXPECT IN AN IYENGAR YOGA CLASS?
The yoga poses are demonstrated and explained to you by the teacher and specific instructions are given to help you achieve the correct pose and you are guided throughout. Sometimes props (wooden or foam blocks, belts or blankets) are introduced to help you achieve this. You may be given individual guidance or correction if necessary. The teachers are trained specifically to observe every individual in the class to ensure that everyone performs the postures safely and to the best of their ability. The classes finish with 5-10 minutes of total relaxation.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF IYENGAR YOGA?
Iyengar Yoga has a profound effect on the body and the mind. When yoga postures are practised with the principles which BKS Iyengar discovered ie correct alignment and with attention to specific areas of the body to wake up and use hitherto unused areas of the body, the postures become much easier to perform (effortless effort).
Your body will become stronger, more balanced and free from years of accumulated tension. Posture is greatly improved and with continued practise your body will be realigned and comfortable. Your breathing will improve as emphaisis is on opening the chest and supporting the lungs and heart. As a consequence, the breath becomes steadier and the mind calmer. Iyengar yoga will teach you how to consciously relax and will help you to feel rested but at the same time energised.
You may experience a whole range of health benefits. For example students often report relief from backache, shoulder and neck problems and other aches and pains. They also report relief from respiratory or digestive problems and sleeping difficulties amongst other health issues.

My name is Jenni Jones and I teach the classes and workshops at Yoga Bumps and Babies. I have taught yoga since 2000 and specialised in pregnancy yoga when I was pregnant with my son Jacob in 2004. His birth inspired my work in Liverpool with Mums to be and I went on to train as a doula or birth assistant. Being a doula has shown me how every birth is different and each one has taught me something new. My passion is helping women to prepare positively for the birth which is right for them.
I trained with Birthlight as a perinatal, baby yoga, postnatal, well woman yoga instructor.
I trained as a Dru yoga teacher in Australia. My doula training was with Michel Odent at Paramana doula.
As time rolls on I experience more and more the importance of women helping women. The connections we build in our years of having our babies can span a lifetime. Having women to journey alongside as our babies grow can be a real support. Women have a tremendous inner strength and a huge resource of energy which is what helps us, in many cases, to spin so many plates in this modern age. I hope that in my classes, women are welcomed and supported and celebrated to be simply themselves. The only thing I ask is that we gather with open hearts and minds and a willingness to let go and take space to be just that…true to ourselves.
