The Sandpiper Studio is the dedicated studio of Wirral artist and tutor Julie McLean BA Hons who has been teaching adults in a variety of drawing and painting media for more than twenty years.
The Sandpiper Studio is set in a peaceful countryside location at Foxes Farm and Riding School on the Wirral Peninsular which is home to some of the finest parks, nature reserves and coastal scenery in Britain.
The large, bright studio provides the ideal space for painting with friends in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Small class sizes ensure individual learning needs can be met and all abilities from beginners to advanced level are welcome.
Julie teaches weekly art classes from Monday to Thursday during term time and visiting artists, from the UK and abroad, provide specialist tuition in workshops and demonstrations throughout the year.

Rennies Gallery is a subsiduary of ‘Rennies Arts & Crafts’. We have two shops in the Merseyside area selling arts and crafts materials and framing. Collectable artwork is available from our Liverpool gallery. The shops are located in Liverpool City centre and St Helens.
Rennies Arts and Crafts was started by Ronald Rennie and Jean Rennie in 1965. The business started from selling oil paintings by Jean Rennie around the North West of England. Ronald Rennie used to frame the paintings with help from his sons, Duncan, Steven and Andrew. Every member of the family were involved in selling the paintings from key out door sites in the North West, such as Bluecoat Chambers in Liverpool, The waterfront at Chester and by the seaside at New Brighton, Southport and Caernarfon.
Ron and Jean opened several shops selling art materials and pictures, in Birkenhead and Liverpool. In 1985 Ron and Jean took more of a back seat in the running of the business, which they passed on to their two sons, Duncan and Steven.
In 1991 the business went limited. Duncan and Steven opened more stores in Ormskirk and St Helens, the latter of which is still open today, along with our head office in Bold Street, Liverpool.
Duncan Rennie now runs the very successful art and craft material retail side of the business. Steven Rennie now runs the galleries and the picture framing arm of the business. The business employs about 25 people. Duncan and Steven have both stayed true to their core principle, important to any small family business – To offer the customer the best possible standard of service.
